Organic Baby Food, Blueberry Delight

Organic Baby Food choices are so limited and not to mention expensive so I've been creating my own and getting rave reviews from the baby.   Sounds something like "nummm nummmmmmmm" and then the mouth opens wide.

I started making my own gourmet baby food because getting baby to eat a balanced meal wasn't working.  I find that it helps tremendously when it tastes great and health-wise it offers baby the variety that commercial prepackaged foods lack.  Also 2.5 oz. is not enough food and I usually end up using 2 packages.  There are a few Organic Baby Food companies sprouting up, but the prices are expensive to use every day and not many stores carry them.  At least in my neck of the woods.  So I simply buy organic ingredients and make my own!

Here is a delicious recipe that I make regularly.   Give it a taste but try to save some for your baby.

Blueberry Delight (Stage 3~Recommended for 8 mos plus)

1/2 cup Organic Baby Oatmeal or Rice Cereal
2 tablespoons Organic Greek Blueberry Yogurt (I prefer Chobani)

Heat the cereal for about 20 seconds and mix in the yogurt.  Stir and serve!  If your baby isn't chewing too well yet then watch for the blueberries.  Chobani has very nice, soft and easy to chew blueberries.

For younger babies you can substitute the yogurt with plain blueberries and white grape juice.  Simply buy organic frozen blueberries, thaw and mash in the food processor with a few tablespoons of white grape juice.  Blend to desired consistency.  Then add to the oatmeal, heat and serve.  Yummo!!
