Ok first off let me just say that my new Baby Wipe Solution that I have for sale on my Etsy shop has been a lifesaver to me as of late. With an infant and a toddler and not much help, I cannot tell you how much I dread going shopping. In fact I put it off as long as possible. My ‘have to go to the store’ rule is when we run out of milk or bread, I have to go shopping. Needless to say anything I can do to lessen the burden I will do. So with an infant going through a ton of wipes of course I run out often. But now I can whip them up at home whenever I run out.
I’ve been working on this product for quite some time, testing and trying different recipes until I have (finally) perfected my mix. My final testing phase was completed after my son was born and I used it on his newborn little buns. I’m happy to report that it works wonderfully. No irritation, and cleans all the special little treats he leaves me. I also noticed it is wonderful with the toddler as well.. Perfect for cleaning hands and faces and you name it. Plus unlike commercial wipes it is completely safe for sensitive skin and is made without the use of harmful chemicals and preservatives. It’s a pretty simple concept actually.. and I don’t know why I never pursued it before. Well better late than never and I am finding that once again it has universal uses besides baby care.

So here is how it works.. Simply add 1-2 tablespoons of the Baby Wipe Solution to about 1 to 1.5 cups of distilled water. You can either buy distilled water or boil your water for at least 5 minutes and then let it cool some. Add the water to the solution in a sterile tub like a baby wipes container or whatever you choose. (You could get creative on this one!.. I’ve seen some really cool decorated baby wipes containers..like these by StyleWipes on Etsy)
Anyway next you need to add either some cloth or paper wipes. I have used old receiving blankets and cut them into wipe sized squares to use and then they can be reused. Or I have also used napkins. (Bounty works well)
Whatever you choose to use for your wipes is fine. Just add them to the container with the wipe solution and water and allow the napkins to absorb the juice. Next I like to flip them over and allow the other side a good soak.
If you add too many napkins and they seem dry you can add a bit more water. If you do not add enough they will be drippy when you use them so use your best judgment. If the wipes feel a bit too soapy then add more water…They are also great for travel! Just throw some of the already made wipes in a plastic bag or container. There you have it! Not to mention you have saved big bucks.
